Jameis Winston just became the youngest Heisman winner and second straight freshman to win the trophy. It was an easy victory for him, as he’s the famous quarterback around he was bound to win it. And he is about to turn 20 in just 23 days. “I cannot explain the feeling I have inside right now,” Winston said. “I’m so overwhelmed, it’s awesome.”

As his name was called he jumped up and ran to his parents and kissed and hugged them. And he just kept smiling and laughing while giving his acceptance speech. “When you see your mom and you see your dad and they’ve been struggling through this whole process and now you see a smile on their face, it comforted me.” He said.

Winston’s votes were 668 and he scored 2205 points. He was 1501 points ahead of Archie Griffin who is a two-time winner. Though some may wonder how he can still be considered as a candidate for the trophy when he has a pending assault charge over his head. He is most accredited for leading Seminoles to college football in January which they played against No2 Auburn.

A female student at Florida State accused Jameis Winston of rape, and filed a report against him that was due for a year, but it was suddenly closed without any reason and that just 4 days before Heisman votes were to come. His attorney declared the sex was consensual, and Winston continued to play for the team while the complaint was being investigated.
