Viper Wins WWE World Heavyweight

Last Updated: December 16, 2013

“Congratulations to NEWWWW @WWE World Heavyweight Champion @RandyOrton! #ChampionOfChampions #WWETLC #TheViper.” Tweeted WWE at 8:43 AM this morning. Randy was rapt; he now becomes the champion of champion after defeating this year’s Heavyweight Champion John Cena.

Many others tweeted congratulations to Randy Orton. “Congratulations @RandyOrton!!!! #historicvictory #WWEWorldHeavyweightChampion @WWEUniverse #ChampionOfChampions.” Tweeted Stephanie McMahon.

“Congrats to the "neeewww" WWE World Heavyweight Champion, @RandyOrton . Kudos 2 both he and @JohnCena for leaving it all in the ring 2nite!,” Tweeted Howard Finkle.

“Congrats to @RandyOrton on becoming the "Champion of Champions" well deserved... Good Dude,” Tweeted Alex Riley.

This match was the most expected and predictable of all of this year’s matches. And surprisingly the WWE Brass announced That Randy would carry the torch.

Randy Orton unhooks both titles and becomes the new unified champion. Good match, enjoyed the drama in last few minutes. #WWETLC,” Tweeted Arda Ocal of the Baltimore sun. “Overall good & fun PPV, good matches & moments. We were guaranteed one title winner, we got one. Hard to complain about that. #WWETLC.”

Orton was selected as Triple H’s face of the company at summer slam when triple H took Daniel Bryan when he beat Cena for WE championship. Bryan and Viper’s feud didn’t end, Viper eventually left as WWE champion with some help from Shawn Michael of hell in a cell. Then there was just one huge maniac blocking Orton from the title, “the Big Show” who Orton defeated in the Survivor Series.

WWE had no idea what twist to put in Survivor Series, This was by far the worst WWE pay-per-views in its history. So they had to go with unification! Triple H made it clear that Cena and Orton would not go with their titles or even after exchanging titles, there has to be unification. That was a brilliant idea! This sold plenty of pay-per-views because everyone knew this is going to make history.

And now that Orton is the next unified champion after Brock Lesnar we’ll have to see how things will go on from now. He has to now defend his title at the Royal Rumble and that would again be probably against Cena.
