Victor Balta

Bio: A print and online journalist for more than 15 years, I am now leading a team of talented writers and a staff photographer who gather and communicate news stories from the University of Washington. Before moving back to the west coast, I was the online news planning editor for Al Jazeera America in New York, which launched on Aug. 20, 2013. I was responsible for planning the website's coverage of major stories, coordinating with the TV news team to develop cross-platform packages, assigning and editing news features and breaking news coverage from a network of freelance contributors across the country who find the stories others weren't reporting.
