Amanda Knox Verdict

Those judges who reinstated murder convictions against Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecitio has spoken for the first time about his anguish at coming to the controversial verdict, and hinted at a series of coincidences that led to the death of the British Student Meredith Kercher.

The Italian court was poised to hand down its verdict in the case of the American Amanda Knox and her former Italian boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito Thursday over the gruesome murder of a British student found stabbed to death.

Knox was following proceedings in the Florence courtroom from her hometown of Seatlle in the United States where she returned after a previous acquittal.

According to the Lawyers Sellecito was also there in the court earlier Thursdays for the morning hearing, and he will not be present for the actual verdict as in his right under Italian Law.

Well, according to some news agency ANSA he may have left Florence, as the two judges and eight jurors have now spent more than 10 hours locked in deliberations.

If she is convicted, experts predict that Knox could ever be extradited to Italy, but she may not be able to travel freely outside the United Stated if Italy issues an international warrant for her arrest.

A guilty verdict could see Sollecito arrested in court and thrown back in jail or stripped of his passport to stop him fleeing Italy pending another appeal.

Knox had returned to Seattle after spending four years in jail before being acquitted in 2011, in an email to this court, Knox wrote that she feared a wrongful conviction.
