Match Summary

Russians are too excited indeed. Instead of going for a handshake Russian captain Vasily Berezutskiy bumped into the referee. The teams are out and the match starts. Belgium gets a corner but nothing comes out of it. Kokorin tries to take a shot from the left but is blocked. Ouch! Samedov and Vermaelen jump for a high ball and bang their heads. Meretens looks like the most dangerous Russian player so far, goes down for a cross shot but is blocked. Samedov is back, looks quite active. Alderweireld throws it high over to Fellaini which bounces off to Lukaku. And then drools down to Vermaelen on the left, and Fellaini is flagged. First shot of the game from 20 yards away, a low left foot to Courtois and it gets pushed away. Alderwereld kicks it off to the far post. Another clash of heads between Alderweireld and Kannuikov. Alderweireld gets away without a penalty after a boot to Kanunnikov’s ankle right inside the Russian box. A substitution, Belgium’s Jan Vertonghen is replacing Vermaelen who looks really upset about it. Glushakov gets a yellow car for booking Mertens in the canter circle. Coutois gets a yellow card for punching the corner clear. Russia gets a corner and it flies down to Fayzulin who just throws it over the bar. Glushakov misses a goal.

50 minutes and nothing new so far other than Wistel crying like a baby after a really bad hit from Kanunnikov on the shoulders. Wistel gets booked for stumbling into Shatov. Belgium substitutes Romelu Lukaku by divock Origi. Shatov slides over and Fayzulin tries to attempt a kick but misses.Eskhenko attempts a shot but goes wide. Belgium’s Mirallas gets a free kcik past the wall and Hazard and origin are fouled at the same time, one in and one outside the box. 88 minutes and it’s a goal! Divock Origi scored for Belgium. And just like that 90 minutes are over of this utterly boring match.
