The first U.S. Couple to win Olympic Gold in Ice Dancing

On Monday Meryl Davis and Charlie White won first Olympic title for the United States in the Winter Event at Sochi, Russia by winning gold medal for their fabulous ice dance.

Following them were the Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir of Canada who took silver medal, who were also champions of 2010, and the bronze medal was won by Elena Ilinykh and Nikita Katsalapov.

By scoring a total of 116.63 points they remained champions in the ice free dance and to finish with 195.52, 4.53 ahead of the Canadians who took silver.

Both the champions started their career in 1997, and on the day champions were almost flawless in their performance.

White, who is 26 years old, expressed that, "That in it justified 17 years of hard work".

At the time of  final minute of the programs, they were so excited that their feet could not stop and they were in the motion. Despite the strenuous demands of the fabulous performance, their movements still fierce.  

It is worth mentioning here that both the champions became first North Americans to win gold medalists in the ice dance. The free dance coupled with the Russian classical music gave a tremendous blend of their performance.
