Dylan Farrow's open letter and Claims against Woody Allen

Dylan Farrow, the adopted daughter of the actress Mia Farrow and film director Woody penned a harrowing open letter published on The New York Times website this Saturday; she claimed that Allen sexually assaulted her when she was a child.

She claimed that the well known director, Woody Allen took her by hand to the second floor of their house, when she was as young as seven years old. Her letter reads, "[W]hen I was seven years old, Woody Allen took me by the hand and led me into a dim, closet-like attic on the second floor of our house. He told me to lay on my stomach and play with my brother’s electric train set. Then he sexually assaulted me," which was published on Times Columnist Nicholas Kristof’s blog.

According to one of the friends of Farrow family, the Farrow was writing publicly for the first time about her allegations. Farrow who is 28, detailed the inappropriate actions of the Allen, which according to her she dreaded and did anything she could to avoid.

Allen who is known for staying out of the public eye, he vehemently denied the claims at the time in a news conference. He claimed it to be an unconscionable and gruesomely damaging manipulation of innocent children for vindication and self serving motives.

The renewed accusations resurfaced as Allens’s latest project, the movie Blue Jasmine, is nominated for three Academy Awards, including best original screenplay for the director.
