The news of the death of the well known director and actor has created a sense of gloom and sad feeling among his fans; he has been one of the best actors of the film industry. On Sunday February 2, 2014, the news shocked his fans, family, and fans.

Hoffman was found dead on February 2, 2014. He was found dead in the bathroom of his west village, Manhatan office apartment. According to the News York City Police Department, it was due to the drug overdose. After a series of investigations, the investigators found a large quantity of drugs. The drugs found were reported to be large quantity of heroin and a number of prescription drugs in his apartment.

According to ABC news there were a total of 65 unused bags of heroin found in Philips home, along with it the investigators found five empty bags and used syringes. One of the syringes was found sticking out of the deceased arm, it was revealed when the body was discovered.

It is worth mentioning here that according to the reports the death does not appear to be a result of fentanyl-laced heroin. The police is currently investigation the purity and the supplier of the drug.
