Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor's divorce plea was reported to be finalized on Wednesday. She is now officially divorced from Delhi-based industrialist Sunjay Kapur. Karisma was accompanied by brother-in-law Saif Ali Khan to the court in Bandra in which the procedure took place.

It is well known that the X-couple were having issues and the matter of divorce was pending from more than a year.  Married in September 29, 2003 their issues began in 2005 after the birth of daughter Samaira. Karishma moved to Mumbai as she had issues with Sunjay, later they sorted out their issues and were reunited.

The couple lived happily till 2010 when Kiaan Raj Kapur was born as the Sunjay infidelity rumors were raised.  After that there were rumors of their possible divorce which was finalized yesterday.

Saif Ali Khan is is also believed to have had a private discussion with the estranged couple, urging them to close the matter without animosity. He apparently quoted his own example (Saif is divorced from first wife Amrita Singh) and tried to broker peace between Karisma and Sunjay who have been dogged by rumors of divorce for years.

Karisma, who made a poorly-received comeback with Dangerous Ishhq in 2012, has been living in Mumbai with her children for some time now.
