Michael Bay lefts Samsung TV Talk Show

Okay, so we’ve all have had moments of stage fright right! But what can anyone say in defense of a multimillion dollar film director when he bails out from talking about his own direction saying, “Excuse me, I’m sorry. I’m sorry.”

Michael bay stood in front on a 105 inch screen with Joe Stinziano, Samsung's executive vice president and according to him got so excited that he forgot the script and the teleprompter got lost.

"My job, as a director, is I get to dream for a living," he initiated, describing Hollywood as a place that "creates a viewer escape."

He further said, "And what I try to do is I ... uhhh, the type is all off -- sorry, but I'll just wing this." With prompting from Samsung Executive Vice President Joe Stinziano, he went on: "We'll wing it right now. I try to take people on an emotional ride and ..." the teleprompter started to malfunction and he froze. Joe Stinziano tried to keep it together and continued saying, “The curve? How do you think it's going to impact how viewers experience your movies?” bay shrugged his shoulders and left the stage.

In his blog he revealed the reason on his blog, “Wow! I just embarrassed myself at CES. I rarely lend my name to any products, but this one is just stellar. I got so excited to talk, that I skipped over the Exec VP’s intro line and then the teleprompter got lost. Then the prompter went up and down – then I walked off. I guess live shows aren’t my thing.”

“It's too bad. I think it looked worse for Michael Bay than it did for Samsung,” said Brian Blau, a research director at Gartner who was in the audience.

“I wasn't too impressed,” said Blau, an expert in visual computing. “I think it adds only a small percentage of immersion.”
