According to the reports on Thursday, UF’C light heavyweight Thiago Silva got arrested in South Florida, after the barricaded himself inside his residence.

He was charged with resisting an officer and battery, and jailed in Broward County.

According to the Broward County Sheriff’s office, the heavyweight fighter, who is Brazilian born was captured during in a SWAT operation.

He was reported to be charged for two reasons, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and obstruction without violence.

Silva is 31 by age, and he is one of the premier professional fighters. Silva joined a mix martial arts promotion company in 2007; the organization ended the relationship on Friday.

He has been separated from his wife since 2012, his arrest followed run-ins with police over treats to his wife, Thaysa Silva. She claims that her separated husband wanted her dead. According to police Taysa Silva called them Wednesday, alleging that Thiago had sent her text messages that he is going to hire someone to kill her.
